WHERE DOES THE NAME COME FROM AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN?*
Pronounced NESS (the ‘+’ is silent), the project takes its name from our endeavour to uncover the essence or soul of our cities through its architecture. In this light one can ask what is the ‘Cape Town-ness’ of Cape Town? or what is ‘the London-ness’ of London?
The name +NESS is inspired from a line from the movie You Me and Dupree (watch it here)

I AM LOOKING FOR A SPECIFIC DATE, DO YOU HAVE IT?
The buildings we chose to feature are not chosen by date, but we have neatly listed all of our prints chronologically by decade to help you find your +NESS! Please check out the timeline feature on our website here
DOES +NESS DELIVER?*
Yes. We offer free delivery across South Africa. Please note we are a small business and our delivery options are limited. We will do our best to get your order to you ASAP but please allow for the following delivery times:
A) Unframed prints: up to 5 working days
B) Framed prints: up to 2 weeks
All international deliveries are charged at R250 (We do not deliver framed prints abroad). Delivery time will vary depending on location. All prints sent from South Africa are done so via The Royal Mail UK. Unfortunately this is not a trackable service.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO FRAME MY +NESS PRINT(S)?
All of our frames are made to order especially for you. This process can take up to an additional 2 weeks from when we have received proof of payment. For orders over the December period, please complete before December 5th.
MY DELIVERY WAS DAMAGED, WHAT CAN I DO?
In the rare occurrence that your print(s) was damaged in the delivery process please contact us here with your name, order number, and nature of the damage and we will sort it out free of charge.
DOES +NESS DO COMMISSIONS?*
Yes… well sort of. We have worked on some really special commissions in the past and love to do bespoke works, but the timing has to be right. Please to get in touch with your request and we will get back to you with regards to whether or not we can help out.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN A NEW PRINT HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE COLLECTION?
All of our newest works get featured on our instagram page so be sure to follow @city_ness not to miss out!
DO YOU SELL THE PRINTS AT OTHER SIZES?
Our Current limited edition (1/100) city+NESS range measure 200mm x 200mm and are not currently available in other sizes. We have however worked on specific corporate/ hospitality requests in the past that have been tailored to specific needs. Please get in touch via the contact form on this website with more info: here
ALL 100 OF THE +NESS PRINT THAT I AM AFTER HAS SOLD OUT, WHAT CAN I DO?
Unfortunately, once we have sold all 100 of a certain print we can not print any more. Be sure to follow our instagram feed (where all our latest prints are released) to avoid this happening again! @city_ness
HOW DO I GET THE +NESS PRINTS INTO MY RETAIL STORE?
+NESS choses to keep a minimal retail presence but are more than happy to discuss retail options with you. Please fill in the contact sheet: here and let us know a bit more about what you have in mind.
DOES +NESS EVER COLLABORATED ON WORK?
All of our prints are done by ourselves but we love to collaborate! If you have something interesting that you would like to work with us on, we would love to hear from you. Let us know your thoughts here
DOES +NESS DO WORK OTHER THAN LIMITED EDITION ARCHITECTURAL PRINTS?
Yes, +NESS is the collaborative platform shared between us (Max Melvill and Jamil Randera). The limited edition (1/100) city+NESS range of prints is just one of our many creative exploits. Get in touch here if you would like to find out more or work with us on something else design related.
