The Westcliff Ridge, originally home to many of Johannesburgs’ wealthiest mining familys, is the ideal settting for one of Johannesburg’s most iconic hotels. High up on the Westcliff Ridge, over looking the leafy suburbs of Johannesburg, the Hotel, and its pink* buildings have for years been a land mark in the city. One of The Westcliff’s unique draw cards is that guests are able to look at the elephants in the Johannesburg Zoo from the hotel’s highest lookout. Originally built as a housing complex and later converted into a luxurious hotel, the buildings have had many lives. The hotel has been the destination of choice for many influencial people over the years, including ; Jane Fonda, John Travolta, Will Smith, Paris Hilton, Richard Branson, Al Gore and the Dalai Lama.

*The iconic pink is no longer the colour of the hotel after a renovation and change of ownership in 2016.
